Cabinet Gorge
Bridge

Project
Highlights

This project called for the replacement of a 560-foot-long, cantilever truss bridge and 180-foot timber approach spans — all dating back to the 1950’s. The new bridge is s 760 foot-long, 3-span steel plate girder bridge, with a center span of 375 feet. The girders are typically 10 feet deep and grow to 13 feet deep at piers 2 & 3. The bridge is founded on drilled shafts. Minor improvements were made to the roadway leading up to the bridge by softening curves and improving sight distances.
