DAC’s Kiowa Revitalization Project serves Glacier National Park community

The Kiowa Revitalization Project is a community-focused effort to restore Kiowa Junction near Glacier National Park in Montana. Led by Will Hammerquist of the Polebridge Mercantile, in partnership with Freestone Development and supported by the Blackfeet Nation, the project aims to preserve Montana’s heritage while creating a lasting local landmark.

Dick Anderson Construction (DAC), led by Josh DeVos out of the Great Falls office, built the new Kyiyo Mercantile — a building that mirrors the historic Polebridge Mercantile with its iconic western façade and red-and-white exterior.

“It is rare for a project to come in ahead of schedule and under budget,” said Hammerquist “DAC accomplished both and was always part of the solution.”

Beyond the mercantile, the revitalization also included a refreshed campground with furnished yurts and cabins (Kiowa Frontier Yurts and Cabins) for visitors throughout the tourism season.
