Helena Public Schools breaks ground on new high school

Helena High School has begun construction on a new three-story building, funded by a $240 million community bond. The project, estimated at $147.1 million, will preserve the current gym and include the PAL school in the south wing, aiming for student occupancy by fall 2028. Additional plans feature a new district kitchen (ready by next year) and a stadium (construction starts in fall 2028).

The project is overseen by A&E + SMA architects and Dick Anderson, with a livestream of construction available on the district’s website.

“It is like my dream, and it is going to be the biggest and most exciting educational project I have ever been involved in,” Dick Anderson shared.
