Sperry Chalet
Phase I

Project
Highlights

Every project has its own unique challenges — but few are accessible only by hike, packstring, or helicopter ride. DAC was commissioned to restore the historic Sperry Chalet, 6.5 miles off the trailhead near Lake McDonald in Glacier, MT. The team faced obstacles every step of the way — from a lack of amenities, to a ticking-clock time frame, to unexpected forest fires. Massive log rafters and beams were transported in via helicopter, and installed carefully to match historic specifications. After several months of hard work, the project was wrapped with nine days to spare before the winter shutdown.
