Elementary

The Townsend Schools project is a multi-phased project that includes the construction of a new 57,000-square-foot elementary school and playground, a 21,000-square-foot classroom addition and renovation, and safety and security upgrades in the middle school. Additionally, the high school received upgrades to its paging and fire alarm systems.

The new elementary school features a multi-use commons/cafeteria space, learning stairs, flex spaces, and modern educational classrooms. The entrance opens to the commons and learning stairs, creating the "heart of the school." The learning stairs provide a unique and flexible multi-use space with a large glass sectional door opening up to a covered patio at the base of the stairs for an optional outdoor learning experience. Above the glass sectional door is a projection area for presentations. There are multiple flex spaces in the classroom wings of the school, providing breakout space for small groups. The new classrooms were outfitted with upgraded technology to meet the ever-changing needs of the school. Middle School renovations included new ceilings, lighting, flooring, paint, and signage. The bright and vivid color palette provides an engaging educational space that fosters creative learning.

DAC fast-tracked the submittal process to ensure there were no hold-ups due to potential material delays. All submittals were submitted and approved far before materials were needed on-site. This allowed DAC to stay on schedule.
